February 16, 2022

ANNANDALE, Va. (February 16, 2022) – Renaissance of Annandale, a premier memory care community serving Northern Virginia, is partnering with the Annandale Chamber of Commerce to offer both in-person and virtual caregiver support groups open to the Fairfax County community.

Open to any area caregiver regardless of whether their loved one resides at Renaissance of Annandale, the support groups are tailored to assisting caregivers and family members whose loved one is living with dementia.

“Our mission is to serve seniors with honor, respect, faith and integrity. We believe that an integral part of fulfilling this mission is supporting family caregivers who live throughout our region. We want to be a resource to those who are dedicating their lives caring for a loved one living with dementia. We invite anyone who lives in the Annandale community or anywhere within Fairfax County to take advantage of our caregiver support group. It doesn’t matter if their loved one currently lives in a memory care community. Everyone is welcome,” Jessica Peters, Executive Director of Renaissance of Annandale, said.

Support groups consist of monthly sessions for spouses and another for children, siblings and caregivers. The spousal support group meets in person the first Tuesday of every month, from 4-5 pm at Renaissance of Annandale. The support group for children, siblings and caregivers takes place online via Zoom the first Wednesday of every month from 5-6 pm. Anyone interested in participating in one of the upcoming group sessions can learn more by emailing by calling (703) 256-2525.

“We understand how valuable it is to have a compassionate team supporting you when you are caring for a loved one with dementia. We are excited to reconnect with our local community through these groups, and we believe they will be incredibly beneficial to every family member or caregiver who attends,” Peters added.
