To recognize Vandina’s many years of service with the NYFD, Renaissance of Annandale’s caregiving team collaborated with Fairfax County firefighters in Springfield, Va., to take this hero to Station 26 on Oct. 19 for a celebration he would never forget.

During his visit, Vandina met fellow firefighters and reminisced about his days serving and protecting the citizens of New York.

“It is an absolute honor to have a number of heroes like Bobby Vandina call Renaissance of Annandale home. He risked his life day in and day out throughout his career with the NYFD to keep his community safe. We are grateful for his service and appreciate the support of the local Fairfax County Fire Station in making this special day a reality,” Jessica Peters, Executive Director of Renaissance of Annandale, said.

“We are grateful that Bobby Vandina’s family has entrusted our team to care for this American hero. At Renaissance of Annandale, we are committed to serving heroes like Bobby with respect, faith, integrity and honor every day. Seeing the Fairfax County community come together to create good news moments for residents like Bobby is what it's all about,” said Bryan Cook, Founder and President of Legacy Senior Living, which operates Renaissance of Annandale.

Vandina served with the NYFD and has been a resident at Renaissance of Annandale since 2020.
